3D Pinball Space Cadet for watches with HarmonyOS and WearOS
In a recent article, I wrote about how you can reminisce about the legendary Windows XP operating system with the 3D pinball game Space Cadet. This game was already pre-installed on Windows XP, which is why so many people know it. Today you can play it on modern Windows, but also on Android mobiles and tablets. But what about watches?
3D Pinball Space Cadet is still functional on new systems thanks to the skillful developers. These are ports, but they look exactly the same as they did back in the Windows XP days. In fact, even the controls are identical on the PC.
I have been testing my favourite smartwatch, the Huawei Watch 4 Pro, for a long time, installing various apps and games unofficially. I managed to get the legendary pinball working on the watch and it plays surprisingly well.
How do I install the game on my smartwatch?
3D Pinball Space Cadet is not officially available for any smartwatch. However, it can be installed on modern watches running HarmonyOS or WearOS. During testing, I tried the v2.4 version of the game on a watch running HarmonyOS 3.1. However, I cannot confirm how the game works on other watches. However, you can try it out.
Of course, it’s not that simple, because the game is not made for small watch displays. It tries to adapt automatically, but you have to help it by changing the DPI or resolution. This is possible with a simple application like EggSoft DPI changer.
- Install on your watch 3D Pinball Space Cadet – Download APK.

- Launch the game and there will be a hidden settings button on the top right. I recommend going into the settings and disabling the features as per the screenshots below. Fonts and other features do interfere with the small display during gameplay.
- Now double-press the watch crown to go into multitasking with apps running and exit the game.
- Install the EggSoft DPI changer app on your watch – Download the APK app.
- In the EggSoft DPI changer mobile app, go to: DPI and then select, for example, the value 170.
- Wait a moment for the system to switch DPI. Then launch the game and you can start playing without any problems.
- When you are done playing, you can launch the application again to change the DPI and tap the “Reset” button. Everything will return to its original state. 😉
